To secure this, the Trust is seeking business case approval for a Medical Equipment Service (MES) for key pieces of medical equipment such as MRI, CT and other imaging equipment; theatre and intensive care patient monitoring, laboratory equipment and incubators.

An agreed investment plan and contract will cover the supply, installation maintenance and replacement of specified equipment to agreed performance standards.

The Medical Equipment Service will enhance the development of high quality, innovative and modern healthcare services facilities supported by a state of the art high technology based Medical Equipment Service capable of supporting modern health services and best practices for residents of the South West.

A Business Case for the Medical Equipment Service has been submitted to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety.
